Is It RACIST to Make Money Online Just By Being Black?

Is-It-RACIST-to-Make-Money-

I have been accused of being racist. In my effort to help empower black people, I was accused by a black person of being racist against…wait for it…black people.

Now calm down, it’s not a serious issue, well it is, but we don’t have to march or boycott against anyone. Instead this incident is a teachable moment and it shows how warped is the mindset of some too many black people when it comes to looking out for ourselves.

So let me tell you the story of how it all went down. Don’t worry I promise not to make this too long, nor will I rant and nor will preach a sermon.

HOW IT ALL GOT STARTED

When I was developing my FREE e-book Make Money Online Just By Being Black (that you can get right now), I conducted a small and very informal survey to see if people would be interested in reading. I asked random people that I knew if they saw that title linked somewhere online, like on their Facebook wall or Twitter timeline, would it pique their curiosity enough to make them click and read. I told you that it was informal.

I asked one lady I knew and she went slap off on me. She didn’t attack me personally, but the question quickly angered her and she felt that not only would she not click and read that title, but she also felt that it was very offensive.

I honestly don’t think she gave the question one brain-watt of thought and I can only conclude that she was thinking with a programmed and miseducated mindset of indoctrination that was triggered by the phrase just by being black.

HERE’S HOW THE CONVERSATION WENT

Me: If you were on Facebook and saw something that said Make Money Online Just By Being Black, would you read it?

Her: NO I WOULDN’T READ THAT! WHY IT GOTTA BE BLACK? WHY IT CAN’T JUST BE MAKE MONEY NO MATTER WHAT YOUR COLOR IS? THAT’S RACIST!

MY REACTION

I have to say that I was surprised and yet I wasn’t surprised. I wasn’t mad, I was somewhat sad actually. I know that we as black people have been physically and mentally beat down in this country for centuries and the subject of race is very touchy, but it pained me nonetheless to see how this fairly intelligent black woman reacted with so much contempt at the mere thought of black people being targeted. It didn’t matter if blacks were targeted in a positive way. She didn’t even try to understand the title or grasp what it was about.

She along with too many other black people have been tricked into believing that we must include everyone else in our activities and if we don’t, then it must be some type of reverse racism. I wonder if I would have garnered the same venom from her had the title been Make Money Online Just By Being American.

I said that I wasn’t going to preach, so we’ll strike those last two paragraphs from the record.

This isn’t a plea to get you to read my book, although I would be very grateful if you did…thanks in advance, but I’m simply trying to show that it is ok for black entrepreneurs to target black consumers without concern of offending other races. Doing for self and kind is not anti-anybody else.

My ebook is a free resource that teaches black entrepreneurs how to make money with black consumers as their target markets. Non-black companies are already making rumploads of money by targeting black consumers. I, you, and we should be doing the same.
